Song title: Once The Roof Goes
Music by: Ray Holt, Martin Faulkner and Andrew Donaldson
Lyrics by: Ray Holt, Martin Faulkner and Andrew Donaldson
Artist: Vulnerable

Ray Holt, Martin Faulkner and Andrew Donaldson have been making music together since they were at school in Newcastle upon Tyne in north-east England back in the 1990s โ and theyโve been entering HCSC since then, too.
Now scattered around the country, they combine their day jobs โ university lecturer in complicated engineering stuff, translator of business texts that no one ever reads, and something or other in the energy industry โ with occasional get-togethers to record new songs, usually in a claustrophobic rehearsal room somewhere in Edinburgh.
โOnce The Roof Goesโ includes a featured vocal from our lovely friend Bex. Lyrically, itโs a typically cheerful Vulnerable observation on decay and the passing of time. Although we admit it may subconsciously also be about male pattern baldness.
To offset the dark theme of the lyrics, weโve submitted a band photo from the category โwhat happens when we get an attack of the giggles during a photoshootโ. (See, we do know how to have fun really.)
Once The Roof Goes
Every line a road
Worn upon my skin
I gave my spark to feed this flame
Yet it’s grown dim
And once the roof goes it’s over
Once the roof goes it’s over
Once the roof goes it’s over
Once the roof goes it’s over
Sparse these days
Time’s all I feel
I fall beneath its wheels
Sparse my dreams of hell
And once the roof goes it’s over
Once the roof goes it’s over
Once the roof goes it’s over
Once the roof goes it’s over
And once your youth goes it’s over
Take this lie from me, oh
It’s more than I could know
Take this lie from me, oh
It’s more than I could know
Take this lie from me, oh
It’s more than I could know
Take this lie from me, oh
It’s more than I could know
