Untamed Bird – The story behind…
In the artistic draught that presently torments us, in this difficult age that we live in, the Cypriot lyric-writer and interpreter Avraam Konstandinou and the Constantinopolitan composer Savvas Degirmentzoglou have decided to present us with something different, something that departs from the usual. A beautiful, love song. A melodic tango which has the magic of a forgotten bygone romantic era.
Avraam states the following: “I wrote the lyrics of ‘Untamed Bird’ a long time ago during my adolescence. When, later, I discovered a tattered notebook with lyrics, at first, I smiled when I read its content. As time passed, though, I remembered once again the magic that was hidden in the ‘Untamed Bird’ and I decided to edit it.
Savvas set it to music and the result is that which you can listen to now. This year, this creation of ours represents Cyprus in the ‘Home Composed Song Contest’. We hope you will love it as much as we did!
